I can't run any version that comes on DVD ROM unless I buy a USB DVD ROM for my MacBook Air (2014). Looking at EA & Origin Web sites Sims 4 requires a discrete video card which is available on 15 MacBook Pro and some but not all iMacs.

I'm really confused by all of the above! I can't play the original The Sims on my Mac without an emulator, because it was designed for Power PC Macs. On eBay there are games called "The Sims 3" and "The Sims 4" which are described as for Mac or for PC/Mac.
